Overview
Residential Support Worker in Education – Lichfield – ASAP. A Special Educational Needs School in Lichfield is looking to appoint SEMH support staff for children with Autism/SEMH and associated challenging behaviour.
Responsibilities
* Cover day-to-day, short- and long-term bookings.
* Support pupils alongside the class teacher and other staff, supporting pupils with everyday school life.
* Provide one-to-one and small group support as needed, acting as a source of support to motivate, engage and ensure pupils are happy and engaged.
School and Student Context
The school caters for pupils aged 5-11 with a wide range of needs including Autism, MLD and SEMH complex needs. It is a very large school with extensive facilities and a strong work ethic among staff.
Candidate Profile / Experience
* Experience of working with individuals with SEMH needs.
* Care experience or Learning Support Assistant background with SEMH experience considered.
* Interest in SEND support staff, care workers, residential support workers, and SEND Teaching Assistants with SEMH experience.
