An esteemed secondary school located in the vibrant town of Bicester, Oxfordshire, is seeking a dedicated and passionate Teacher of Humanities to join their committed team from September 2024. The school has been consistently rated as GOOD by Ofsted, reflecting its commitment to providing high-quality education and fostering a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging and dynamic humanities lessons to students across Key Stages 3 and 4, with a particular focus on History, Geography, and Religious Studies. They will be expected to inspire and motivate students, helping them to achieve their full potential while fostering a love for the humanities.
Key Responsibilities:
*Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality lessons in line with the national curriculum.
*Assess, monitor, and record student progress, providing feedback to students and parents.
*Contribute to the development of the humanities curriculum and departmental resources.
*Participate in departmental and whole-school meetings, contributing to the overall development of the school.
*Support students' academic, social, and emotional development through pastoral care and extra-curricular activities.
Requirements:
*Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
*A degree in a relevant humanities subject.
*Proven experience teaching humanities at the secondary school level.
*Strong subject knowledge in History, Geography, and Religious Studies.
*Excellent classroom management skills and the ability to engage and motivate students of varying abilities.
*Commitment to ongoing professional development and a willingness to contribute to the wider school community.
*Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, parents, and students.
