Central Support Officer

Join our team as a Central Support Officer at King's Mill Hospital!

Are you a motivated and detail-oriented individual who thrives on delivering top-notch patient and customer care? If so, we have the perfect role for you!

Key Responsibilities:

* Serve as the primary contact for GP practices regarding patient referrals.
* Efficiently book referrals through the E-referrals system in chronological order.
* Collaborate in building and updating the Directory of services within ERS.
* Work closely with Business Support Managers to identify additional outpatient capacity.
* Create and modify patient communication letters in Careflow.
* Coordinate the receipt of two-week wait referrals from GP practices
* Maintain permanent clinic changes on Careflow to match consultant job plans
* Stay informed about local and national initiatives affecting outpatient bookings.
* Continuously review and enhance existing working methods.
* Pilot and implement new procedures and systems.
* Keep up-to-date with mandatory training.
* Offer support to the team as needed.

Person Specification


Knowledge

* Knowledge of NHS
* Medway PAS Computer Skills/ e-Referrals including DoS and commissioning
* Ability to interpret/analyse data
* Ability to use spreadsheets
* Confidentiality procedures
* Current knowledge of NHS issues, understanding of service change and targets affecting OPD
* Knowledge of medical terminology


Qualifications

* Good general education with GCSE English and Maths at grade C or above/equivalent
* Education/ability equivalent to A' Level standard
* IHRIM Certificate or equivalent level of knowledge


Experience

* Patient Admin experience to include OPD clinics/appointments systems and booking
* Effective team player, able to work with staff at all levels
* Service change


Contractual Requirements

* Regular attender and flexible approach to work
