Job Title: Mechanical Maintenance Engineer Location: Bedford Salary: Competitive Hours: Monday to Friday | 9am - 6pm (40 hours per week) Overtime: x1.5 after 40 hours, x2 on a Sunday Sector: Food Manufacturing Employment Type: Permanent Looking to join a globally recognised food manufacturing business that is investing heavily in site upgrades, automation and engineering capability? Recently recognised as Employer of the Year at the Food Manufacture Excellence Awards, the company are expanding their close knit engineering team, working across different areas, including boning halls, processing lines, packaging areas and site utilities, you’ll be supporting reactive breakdowns and ensuring planned maintenance activities are completed across production operations, new machinery installations, upgrades and engineering improvement projects. Responsibilities: Carry out reactive breakdown repairs to minimise downtime Complete planned preventative maintenance (PPM) schedules Mechanical fault finding on production machinery and plant equipment Support production teams with machinery adjustments and setups Maintain motors, gearboxes, conveyors and mechanical systems Assist with machinery installations and improvement projects Machinery & Equipment: You will be maintaining a range of production and processing equipment including: Conveyor systems Meat processing machinery (grinders, mincers, cutting equipment) Packaging machinery Motors, gearboxes and drive systems Refrigeration and site utilities Benefits: Pension (3% employer / 5% employee) 20 days holiday Bank Holidays 2x life cover Training and development opportunities Opportunities to support engineering projects and site improvements Skills & Experience: Mechanical maintenance experience in manufacturing or production environments Strong fault-finding skills on industrial machinery Experience with motors, conveyors, gearboxes and mechanical systems NVQ/BTEC/C&G Level 3 in mechanical engineering or equivalent Please note: This client does not offer visa sponsorship.
