Offer description

Responsibilities

:
1. Develop bid plan with Business Development and manage a team to achieve bid deliverables - typically involving Engineering, Procurement, Operations, Quality, Finance, Contracts & Commercial and external partners
2. Obtain bid & proposal spend for bid managed opportunities. Ensure resource demand for these bidding activities is accurately captured and controlled via Microsoft Project Server and addressed through resource councils
3. May also be required to execute delivery of programmes on contract award.
4. Direct, motivate and provide leadership for the team in order to deliver bid/programme to agreed time, budget, quality and benefits
5. Ensure effective and open communication throughout the team and with stakeholders
6. Direct the supply chain for the bid/ programme
7. Integrate the reporting for the programme making best use of available PMO capabilities
8. Ensure team complete inputs as per the Company governance process, conducting gate reviews to schedule including approval from all stakeholders
9. Co-operate with management to meet the employer's legal duties and take reasonable care of their own health and safety and that of others who may be affected by their acts or omissions

Qualifications and Experience:

10. Driven and experienced bid manager with a proven track record of developing and implementing effective plans to secure business and deliver
11. Awareness of offset / industrialization requirements
12. Strong record of operating in a customer service environment
13. Knowledge of the functional disciplines and supply chain that require management
14. Track record of building and maintaining excellent relationships
15. Equivalent of 5 years' experience managing bids and programmes or in functional area with proven delivery track record
16. Knowledge and demonstrable experience of PPM techniques

19. Problem solving skills - able to deal with ambiguities, uncertainties & conflicts
20. Knowledge of project finance
21. Commercially and contractually aware
22. Risk management - mitigate risks, identify opportunities to increase revenue/margin
23. Customer orientation and interface
24. Able to take corporate or 'global' view and deal with senior stakeholders
25. Knowledge of aerospace industry
26. Demonstrable PPM competences
27. Bid/programme performance management - KPIs, metrics
28. Extensive knowledge of MS Office - particularly MS Project
29. Willingness to develop

Other :
9 day fortnight - 37 hrs p/w
Hybrid pattern - min 3 days in office, dependent on project and workload
up to 25% (average 10%) UK travel to other Company/Client sites in the UK
