Role
We are seeking an empathetic, proactive, and collaborative new member of the Genetic Alliance UK team. Our newEngagement and Support Officer will deliver a 6-month pilot project to deliver events and create a supportivecommunity for families in Scotland living with genetic, rare, and undiagnosed conditions.
Genetic Alliance UK is the largest alliance of organisations supporting people with genetic, rare, and undiagnosedconditions in the UK. Our members and the people they support are at the heart of everything we do. We advocatefor fast and accurate diagnosis, good quality care, and access to the best treatments. We actively supportprogress in research and engage with decision-makers and the public about the challenges faced by ourcommunity.
This vital role, collaborating closely with our Head of Scotland and Public Affairs, will be instrumental indelivering a groundbreaking pilot project that offers new support to these families. This unique chance allowsyou to work directly with those affected by genetic, rare, and undiagnosed conditions, expand your professionalnetworks, and help deliver a brand new pilot support service. Key responsibilities include assisting with thedevelopment of Scotland-specific support and information services, delivering a programme of in-person andonline outreach activities and events, and disseminating our early intervention information toolkit – RareResources for Scotland. You will also assist with the facilitation of Genetic Alliance UK’s ‘Contact Us’information service and work in partnership with key local organisations to deliver holistic support.
This role would be a great fit for someone with a background in delivering engagement events and providinginformation services within a charity, healthcare, local authority or social care setting.
The successful candidate will be required to complete a Disclosure Scotland CHECK.
