Job Description
We are currently recruiting for an IT Business Analyst, within the Costain Management Office (CMO) team, for a 6 month contract while an existing team member is off on sabbatical.
The CMO team is part of the wider Strategy & Transformation function, managing change across organisation, as well as delivering Core IT solutions that support corporate departments, contracts and clients. The role will be a 6-month fixed term contract.
Reporting into the Lead Business Analyst, work in this role will primarily focus on developing IT solutions that support corporate departments and contracts but will also support wider change in the business. The person will be responsible for creating requirements for new projects and on occasions, ensuring the project is managed efficiently and accurately following our change management processes.
To complete these responsibilities, you will need to engage with users and stakeholders from across the business, interpreting requirements, feeding these into the delivery team and, on occasion, supporting project management. You will be part of project teams throughout the delivery lifecycle of initiatives, supporting great communication and innovative solutions for the business.

Responsibilities
Our project teams apply ITIL and Agile methods and Oracle, Microsoft or third-party platforms to quickly deliver value.
You will demonstrate the flexibility to work on multiple initiatives at a time, if required.
Key Responsibilities:
* Gather, review, analyse and document business requirements
* Identify key stakeholders, ensuring clear communications and building trusted relationships
* Liaise between various business departments and groups to support requirements gathering
* Maintain documentation regarding various projects, processes and operations
* Collaborate with project managers, other analysts and cross functional teams to support delivery of objectives
* Project managing smaller initiatives across the overall lifecycle, as required
* Build relationships across the Strategy and Transformation team, to understand individuals' skillsets and support delivery
* Contribute to the Business Analyst team to support continuous improvements of methods, tools and techniques
Qualifications
* E experience working in a business improvement and/or IT operations
* Ability to communicate effectively and influence key stakeholders
* Excellent leadership skills
* Problem solver who thinks creatively to create innovative solutions
* Ability to stay calm under pressure
* Prioritisation skills to ensure focus on most critical requirements
* Familiarity with industry technology systems to gather data and problem solve
* Understanding of project delivery methodologies in traditional waterfall, agile and hybrid
* Proficient using Microsoft suite of tools, including Excel and PowerPoint
* Understanding of project team structures, roles, responsibilities
* Comfortable working with different types and seniority of stakeholders, including analysts, clients, technology specialists and senior leaders
* Desirable: experience in a similar role in a professional services environment
* Desirable: experience in delivery of Microsoft Azure based services
* Desirable: experience using JIRA project tracking software to manage projects
