The Special Allocation Scheme (SAS) is a primary careservice dedicated to providing tailored patient care to a cohort of patients,who can no longer access healthcare via their local practice, often due tochallenging behaviour.
As the Deputy Practice Manager, you will have an empatheticand professional persona, with the ability to remain calm in challengingsituations. You will be an integral part of the service by assisting the teamin delivering exceptional primary care.
Main duties of the job
In this role, you will provide leadership and guidance toall staff during the day-to-day delivery of the SAS service, overseeingnational and local contracts and liaising with multi-disciplinary individualsand teams to ensure targets are met.
Your main duties will be:
1. To oversee and manage the SAS and ExtendedAccess Services in the absence of the Contract Manager
2. Collate and provide data for stakeholders andContract Manager for all services
3. Overseeing the administrative elements of theQuality and Outcomes Framework (QOF)
4. Developing and running audits on clinicalsystems for the purpose of improving clinical care
5. Implement systems to ensure compliance with CQCregulations and standards
6. To evaluate, organise and oversee the staffinduction and appraisal programmes

Job responsibilities
7. Provide leadership and guidance to all staff, and take direct day to day leadership of the administrative and reception team for all services, ensuring that they adhere to policy and procedures at all times
8. Overseeing the administrative elements of QOF, national and local contracts, liaising with GP's, nursing staff and administrators to reach targets.
9. Developing and running searches and audits on the clinical systems for the purposes of improving clinical care, capturing clinical and performance data to support the contract manager with finance reporting.
10. Implementing systems to ensure compliance with CQC regulations and standards.
11. Assist with recruitment procedures and ensure roles are required by the services, this will include reviewing and regularly updating job descriptions as required.
12. Supporting the contract manager in implementing and embedding an effective staff appraisal process, which will include staff development plans for all staff whilst maintaining a robust training record.
13. Setting up the appointments diary (EMIS and System One) working with the appropriate persons for template guidance.
14. Reviewingand updating referral templates in EMIS and System One as required.
15. Updating and acting as the focal point for the practice website
16. Ensuring the staff implement the practice wide approach to the management of 'all patient services matter.'
17. To deputise, oversee and manage the SAS service and other services in the absence of the Contract Manager.
18. Collate and provide data for stakeholders and the Contract Manager for all services.
19. Attend stakeholder meetings to support the Contract Manager.

20. Proficiency in all Microsoft Office applications.
Experience

21. A good working knowledge and understanding of System One. Previous practice manager or deputy practice manager experience in a primary care setting.
Desirable
22. Ability to deal with challenging behaviour and previous experience of conflict resolution in practice.
23. Ability to communicate effectively and demonstrate empathy when dealing with patients and clinical staff.
