The Role

You will be based within the school’s specialist SEN unit, supporting students with a range of additional needs including ASD, ADHD, speech & language difficulties, and moderate learning needs. The provision is well‑structured, well‑resourced, and led by an experienced SENCO who prioritises collaboration, consistency, and professional growth.

This role is ideal for graduates exploring careers in teaching, educational psychology, therapy, or child development.

Key Responsibilities

1. Targeted SEN Support – Deliver 1:1 and small‑group interventions aligned with EHCP outcomes.
2. Classroom Adaptation – Support teachers in modifying resources and ensuring accessibility.
3. Behaviour & Emotional Regulation – Use positive behaviour strategies to help students engage and self‑regulate.
4. Progress Monitoring – Record observations and contribute to review meetings.
5. Team Collaboration – Work closely with the SENCO, pastoral team, and external specialists.

About the School

6. Located in the HA8 area, with excellent transport links via the Northern Line and local buses
7. A large, mixed secondary school with a strong reputation for behaviour, pastoral care, and inclusion
8. A designated teacher‑training school, offering clear progression routes into teacher training programmes
9. Modern facilities including dedicated SEN spaces, sensory rooms, and intervention areas
10. A diverse student community with a culture built on respect, ambition, and high expectations
11. Supportive leadership team committed to staff development and wellbeing

Ideal Candidate

12. A recent graduate (Psychology, Education, Sociology, or related fields desirable)
13. Passionate about supporting young people with additional needs
14. Patient, resilient, and able to build strong relationships
15. Confident communicator with a proactive, flexible approach
16. Interested in progressing into teacher training or specialist SEN pathways
