We’re looking for a manager who can lead with empathy, foster a supportive and high-performing team culture, and play a key role in the continued success of the UK and Ireland’s leading training organisation.
Our ideal candidate will have proven experience in sales, marketing and business development. The primary purpose of the role is to ensure the smooth running of the training centre and to manage and motivate the team. Your primary goals are to increase the overall number of student enrolments, maintain high standards of student experience and achieve the targets set. We are looking for an individual who is willing to take a hands on approach so that they can lead by example.
This role will report to the Area Manager of Pitman Training Group.
About the role
* Responsibility for the day-to-day running of the centre.
* Work extremely closely with our Course Advisors to ensure that all enquiries are followed up promptly and to the best possible standards.
* Create processes that enable us to maximise our volume of enrolments and increase the revenue of the training centre.
* Deliver an exceptional value proposition – delighting students – to create advocates, attract referrals and drive the highest enrolment values.
* You will handle a proportion of the consultations (sales meetings) yourself, leading by example, and helping to maximise the overall performance.
* Work closely with the Learning Coach team to deliver the best possible student experience.
* Ensure excellent product knowledge both for yourself and for the team, so that we can competently advise all prospective students and convert the majority of enquiries.
* Identify local opportunities to promote Pitman Training and enhance the reputation of the Reading location.
* Make direct approaches to local company/corporate prospects, who may have a need for training services, with a view to attracting more new business.
* Attend local networking events to improve brand awareness and create employer links.
* Take maximum pride in the appearance of the training centre, living up to our promise of a premium venue.
* Observations/shadowing to support staff on a regular basis, offering feedback and encouragement, ensuring best practice and a positive culture at all times.
* Perform HR duties such as recruitment, setting rotas, performance reviews, and sickness and absence monitoring.
* Manage all aspects of building and service management and maintain good relationships with all suppliers for the betterment of the business.
* Ensure compliance with regulatory bodies and undertake audits.
* Prepare financial predictions by preparing annual targets and forecasts for the Managing Director.
* Ensure key performance indicators and targets in relation to sales performance and service standards are managed in line with company expectations.
Qualifications and Skills
* Have proven sales experience in a customer-facing environment or a student admission environment.
* Have some experience in marketing and business development, generating new business leads.
* Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with an ability to communicate clearly and effectively at all levels.
* Have a natural conscientiousness; to fix, solve and improve things for the betterment of the business.
* Strong people management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate.
* Self-motivated and driven, with excellent organisational and time management skills.
* Friendly and approachable with a can-do attitude.
* Calm and compassionate nature.
* Excellent working knowledge of the Microsoft suite.
* Good IT/Tech skills. Experience with CRM is desirable (not essential).
Hours of work:
* In person
* 37.5 hours per week, typical hours are Monday-Friday 9:00 am – 5:00 pm
* Two late Thursdays until 8:00 pm and two Saturdays (9:30 am – 4:00 pm) per month are required. When a Saturday is worked, an additional day off during the week is provided.
* This is a full time on location position (Reading).
