Contract Senior Civil Engineer – Drainage & Highways

A busy civil engineering consultancy is looking to appoint an experienced Senior Civil Engineer on a part‑time contract basis (circa 20 hours per week).
This role will focus primarily on residential and commercial development schemes, with an emphasis on drainage and adoptable highways design.
The Role
* Surface & foul water drainage design
* SuDS strategies and detailed design
* Flood Risk Assessments
* S104 drainage agreements
* S38 & S278 highway design and approvals
* Liaison with LLFAs, Environment Agency and Water Authorities
* Supporting projects from feasibility through to technical approval
This is a hands‑on technical role suited to someone comfortable working autonomously and delivering compliant, buildable solutions.

* Civils 3D
* MicroDrainage
* Causeway Flow
* Site 3D
About You
* Strong experience in UK residential and/or commercial development
* Proven track record securing S104, S38 and S278 approvals
* Confident working independently
* Able to commit to approximately 20 hours per week
* UK-based with right to work
