Medical Staffing Principal Business Partner

We are seeking a highly credible leader, with a compassionate and inclusive leadership style, for the role of Principal Business Partner in a newly formed Medical Staffing Team. Senior level Medical Staffing experience would be an advantage.

The successful applicant will have a demonstrable track record in all areas of HR service delivery and senior level management experience in a healthcare or public services setting; working alongside senior leadership teams in a complex, matrix system.

Expert knowledge of employment legislation, current case law and best practice is essential; as is extensive knowledge of health service workforce regulation regimes (e.g., CQC) and significant experience of interpreting and applying same in a highly complex organisational setting.


Main duties of the job

The Principal Business Partner (PBP) is a senior workforce/ OD (Organisational Development)/HR (Human Resources) professional responsible for leading the people strategy in relation to the medical workforce within the Trust to deliver safe, quality, compassionate care to patients through effective and sustainable people plans and competent compassionate staff.

There are a number of collaboratives in place within the Trust and this role will be accountable for Medical Staff within each Collaborative in conjunction with the Medical Directorate service.

The post holder is expected to be a role model of Trust behaviours and standards. They are expected to be exemplars in the delivery of people services within their area of responsibility. They must promote best practice and equality of treatment for all staff and prospective employees, including recruitment, promotion and training and continuous professional development.

Ultimately the role should work in close collaboration with People Services, the Medical Directorate and collaborative senior teams to ensure we have the right people, in the right place, at the right time within the collaborative and that they are supported, adequately trained, safe and productive, and delivering quality services to the patients.

Person Specification


Qualifications

* MCIPD
* Masters qualification in relevant HR field /or extensive knowledge and or equivalent level of experience.
* Evidence of CPD


Knowledge

* Senior level management experience in a large complex environment within a healthcare/public services setting
* Demonstrable track record in all areas of HR service delivery including organisational change; performance management; health & wellbeing; learning and development; equalities; TUPE transfers; policy development and implementation, complex case management and mediation processes.
* Expert knowledge of employment legislation, current case law and best practice.
* Worked alongside senior leadership teams in a complex matrix system.
* Extensive knowledge of health service workforce regulation regimes (eg CQC) and significant experience of interpreting and applying same in a highly complex organisational setting.
* Extensive experience of managing staff, writing and presenting reports to SLTs and budget management.
* Clear commitment to staff development and performance excellence.
* Experience of developing and implementing strategy
* Evidence of writing and presenting business cases and complex reports at Board level.
* Senior level Medical Staffing experience
* Extensive experience in the positive and proactive relationship management of staff representative and related negotiation processes.
* Extensive experience in positive and proactive relationship management.
* Evidence of positive contribution to workforce productivity and efficiency initiatives including skill mix changes, role design and process improvement with proven track record in driving sustainable change and related quality improvement.
* Experience in project management with proven ability to deliver projects on budget and on time with benefits realised.
