Due to increased workload and network recovery requirements, the business is expanding its delivery support team.
Your new role
As a Highways Maintenance Technician, you will play a key role in supporting the planning, coordination and safe delivery of reactive and minor planned highways maintenance works across the local network.
* Plan and schedule highway maintenance activities using a works management system across multiple delivery teams.
* Coordinate reactive maintenance, carriageway and footway works, considering traffic management, hazards and resource availability
* Review, check and verify work instructions prior to issuing to delivery teams.
* Ensure all works comply with health and safety, quality and environmental requirements and the local highways authority specification.
* Undertake site-based inspections and audits to verify compliance with company standards
* Support the achievement of contractual KPIs, escalating risks or constraints where performance may be impacted
* Work collaboratively with the Senior Delivery Technician, Delivery Manager, operational teams and supply chain partners.
* Promote best practice, continuous improvement and effective communication across the delivery function
What you'll need to succeed
* SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme)
* Traffic Management qualification - 12D M7 (Lantra)
* Experience in highways maintenance, network operations or works planning
* Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities
* A collaborative approach with a focus on safety, quality and continuous improvement
