Production Planning Specialist Belfast

The organisation is now looking for a Production Planning Specialist to play a key role in optimising production schedules, balancing resources with customer demand, and ensuring efficient, compliant, and on-time delivery across the site. This role is ideal for professionals with experience in manufacturing operations, ERP production planning, and regulated medical device environments.
The Opportunity
This position sits at the heart of the manufacturing operation, translating monthly supply plans into clear, realistic weekly and daily production schedules. The successful candidate will work closely with supply planning, production supervisors and broader operations to ensure materials, people and equipment are aligned to deliver against demand while maintaining the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Develop and implement production plans to maximise resource utilisation and meet agreed production schedules and quality standards
2. Monitor production activity to ensure material flow is aligned with operational requirements
3. Adjust schedules to accommodate backlogs, design changes, and material or labour shortages
4. Plan the day to day allocation of work orders to production lines to achieve targets safely and cost effectively
5. Prepare and release work orders and purchase requests in line with the agreed production schedule
6. Estimate the human resources, tools and equipment required to manufacture products
7. Evaluate production specifications and plant capacity data to determine manufacturing processes and calculate machine and operator loads
8. Analyse production data to ensure material flow supports schedule adherence
9. Apply structured root cause and problem solving methodologies to investigate non conforming processes
10. Contribute to a safe, compliant and positive working environment
11. Support continuous improvement initiatives across planning and operations
12. Undertake additional duties as required by management
Package;
13. £39,000 to £44,000 basic plus bonus
14. Comprehensive corporate benefits package
Candidate Profile:
15. Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Engineering or related discipline, or equivalent practical experience
16. 3 to 5 years' experience in production planning, scheduling or a related manufacturing operations role
17. Strong understanding of manufacturing capacity planning, resource management and material flow principles
18. Demonstrated experience working closely with supply planning and production teams
19. Proficiency in ERP and production planning systems
20. Strong analytical capability with a structured, data driven approach
21. Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence across functions
