Band 6 Pelvic Health Physiotherapist

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join the Pelvic Health Physiotherapy Team based at Solihull and Good Hope Hospitals, part of University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust.
The post offers opportunities to work in many aspects of Pelvic Health Physiotherapy, primarily outpatient based, as part of a supportive and innovative team. In addition to having a general Pelvic Health caseload you will work with the obstetric, urology, gynaecology and colorectal multidisciplinary teams. We also work alongside the PPHS team (Perinatal Pelvic Health Service) who are currently pioneering the development of new models of care within maternity services.
The post holder will participate in undergraduate student training and take part in the department evidence based practice and audit programmes. As a team we actively encourage personal development and regular support with learning will be provided in addition to independent CPD opportunities.

Main duties of the job
*This post is based at Solihull Hospital and will include one to two working days at the Good Hope site.
*The post holder will undertake specialist assessment and management of a Pelvic Health patient caseload as an autonomous practitioner including those with complex presentations. This may include patients with pelvic floor dysfunction, bladder or bowel symptoms, pelvic pain and pregnancy related musculoskeletal conditions.
*Achieve effective daily management of a caseload of patients including responding to urgent referrals, prioritising clinical work and balancing other patient related and professional activities in accordance with departmental standards. You will also attend regular MDT meetings.
*The post holder will contribute to the team and service development including regular participation in in-service training / CPD activities, audit, appraisal and supervision of students.
*You should have excellent communication skills and be able to sensitively deal with distressing or emotional circumstances regarding patient care.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* *Diploma / Degree in physiotherapy
* *Current registration with Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)
* *Membership of CSP and specialist interest groups
Experience
* *Specialist knowledge across a range of practices, routine and non-routine, requiring expertise within the field of physiotherapy
* *Previous and ongoing attendance of mandatory training
* *Experience within the NHS as a Band 5 physiotherapist working in a range of clinical settings, including the musculoskeletal field
* *Previous and ongoing attendance at recent postgraduate courses relevant to pelvic health clinical work
* *Evidence of attendance at and delivery of in-service training.
* *Evidence of active involvement in clinical audit / R&D activity
* *Band 6 experience within the National Health Service.
