Job Title: Operations Operator / Frameworks Operator
Location:Manchester North
Pay Rate: £17.36 per hour
Shift Pattern: 10:00 – 18:00 (Flexibility required depending on workload)
Job Overview:
We are seeking reliable and adaptable Operations Operators to support key operational activities for Royal Mail. This is a hands-on, ad hoc role involving manual handling, equipment use, and the assembly/disassembly of mail sorting frames.
Please note:
* This is an ad hoc role – work is scheduled based on operational need.
* You will travel between multiple Royal Mail sites, often working at a single site for only 1–2 days at a time.
* Travel expenses may be covered where applicable (discuss at interview stage).
Key Responsibilities:
* Follow clear, concise instructions from the Royal Mail Lead
* Adhere strictly to all Health & Safety standards at all times
* Use various tools including:
o Impact drivers
o Drills
o Stanley knives
o Measuring tools
* Bolt and unbolt Royal Mail sorting frames (approx. 5ft tall, 6ft wide, 45kg steel construction)
* Operate power tools to screw and unscrew bolts
* Assist colleagues in repositioning and relocating heavy sorting frames
* Apply vinyl wrap and duct tape to sorting frames as directed
* Load and unload large vans on operational sites
Requirements:
* Physically fit and confident with manual handling
* Comfortable using a range of tools
* Punctual and flexible with working days and varying tasks
* Able to adapt quickly to changes in location or duties
* Strong team player with clear communication skills
* A valid UK driving licence is desirable due to travel requirements
Additional Information:
* All work will be carried out under the supervision of a Royal Mail Lead
* Flexibility is essential – both in terms of duties and travel
* PPE and relevant tools will be provided
