Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a genuine passion for helping others, particularly children and young people, and will play a vital role in providing support and care to enhance the quality of life for young people with complex lives.

This position requires an individual who is adaptable, patient, and possesses excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities

* Provides direct support to children and young people, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.
* Assist in the development and implementation of individual care plans tailored to each the needs of each child or young person.
* Engage with children and young people through various activities that promote learning and development.
* Maintain records of daily activities, progress, and any incidents that occur.
* Work in collaboration with families, educators, and other professionals to ensure comprehensive support for each child.
* Required to attend mandatory visits regarding the child or young person, such as appointments, school and more.
* Utilise IT systems to document care plans and track progress effectively.
* Attend to and complete assigned training ( this is related to improving your ability to understand and support children and young people).
* Maintaining a safe a tidy living environment for children and young people, whilst encouraging them to do the same.

Qualifications

* Enhanced DBS certificate which enables you to work with children (it is desirable if this is registered with the updates service).
* Previous experience working with children; experience in a children's residential setting is preferred and highly desirable.
* Valid training certificates related to working with children and young people is preferred.
* A valid driving licence is preferred.
* Strong communication skills, both verbal and written for effective interaction with children and families.
* Familiarity with creating and following care plans is advantageous.
* Proficiency in IT systems to manage documentation and reporting tasks efficiently.
* A compassionate nature with the ability to build relationship with children/young people and their families.
* The willingness to make a meaningful difference in the lives of children/young people.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From £13.00 per hour

Expected hours: 48 per week
