Neighbourhood Warden – Safer Streets Team (Community Safety)
Are you passionate about making a real difference in your community? We are looking for a proactive and professional Neighbourhood Warden to join our expanding team, helping to tackle anti-social behaviour, support residents, and create safer, cleaner neighbourhoods across Merton.
We currently have a team of 8 Wardens, including 2 who specialise in untidy land, and due to continued growth, we are looking to recruit additional wardens to strengthen our service.
This is a dynamic and rewarding role where no two days are the same. You will carry out a mixture of mobile and foot patrols across Merton, providing a visible and reassuring presence within the community. Patrols are conducted in pairs to ensure safety and effectiveness, unless solo patrol is authorised.
Using your knowledge of key legislation, including anti-social behaviour and environmental laws, you will address local issues, work in partnership with police and community organisations, and engage directly with residents and businesses. You’ll play a vital role in resolving problems, managing incidents, and delivering visible, community-focused enforcement.
We’re looking for someone with strong communication and problem-solving skills who can remain calm under pressure, work independently, and build positive relationships with a wide range of people. You’ll need to be adaptable, organised, and committed to delivering a high-quality service.
This role is contracted at 35 hours per week, working a rota that includes shifts starting as early as 7:00am and finishing as late as 10:00pm, including evenings and weekends.
This is a fantastic opportunity to make a genuine impact, develop your skills, and be part of a supportive team dedicated to improving community safety. If you are motivated, community-focused, and ready for a varied and meaningful role, we want to hear from you.
Please note: This role requires an enhanced DBS check.
