The Plant and Logistics Manager
The logistics manager will be required to manage the movement of people, plant, goods and equipment throughout the site in order to ensure organisational effectiveness, efficiency and safety in both the early contractor involvement (ECI) and engineering & construction contract (ECC) phases of the project.
Must be experienced in undertaking a Logistics Management role on a large/ complex Heavy Construction/ Civil Engineering Project
· Must be a Team Player used to working on multi-disciplinary, large complex Heavy Construction/ Civil Engineering Project with strong organisational and communication skills, working in a team environment
· Manage all Plant / Equipment hire & logistical requirements for, and be based on the project
· Maintain plant registers and carry out inspections
· Manage & interact with plant suppliers, including SRM Plant and SRM Lifting Solutions based in Kettering & the local supply chain network.
· You will ensure that all deliveries are booked in and executed to the Sellafield site standards, including compliance with loading requirements prior to delivery, clarification of predetermined off-loading requirements, & any necessary paperwork to ensure smooth delivery, e.g. Work closely with our supply chain to ensure they are consistently compliant and performing in accordance with the plant requirement standards.
· You shall be able to undertake Line Manager duties for any direct reports allocated to manage and administer the project logistical requirements
· Must be able to ensure Project Health, Safety & Well Being policies, procedures, site rules, minimum standards, works contractors RAMS are followed at all times, and ensure a positive Health, safety & wellbeing culture is at the heart of all that we do
· Assist the Project Team in the coordination of all works contractors, which include all logistics and works activities ensuring that consideration is given to the neighbouring projects, site closures (affecting routes)
· Attend daily “Black Hat” briefings for the coordination of Trade Contractors and Sub-contractors
· Create a schedule of logistics meetings and ensure logistics are represented at site meetings
· Managing plant and equipment deliveries notified by the Works Contractors/ Client Team
· Maintain an asset register of equipment, e.g. Assist with the production and implementation of the logistical phasing plans for the project, including site controls.
· Assist with the project logistical reporting, providing key logistical stats, reports recommendations to improve the project logistical interfaces to make the site operate effectively and efficiently
· Ideally located in the local area of West Cumbria.
You hold a current and a valid CSCS card, coupled with Contractor/ Subcontractor management experience.
· A proven track record of delivery within a construction management or logistics function that has led to performance improvement e.g. cost reduction, innovation etc
· Personal commitment to promoting a sustainable approach to plant selection and procurement
· Capacity to deal with complex logistics issues, and to implement logistics and supply chain vision, strategy and priorities
· Ideally be qualified to Site Management Safety Training Scheme) SMSTS/ similar
· Have a positive working culture with consistent behaviours and conduct - an assessment may be carried out as part of the interview selection process
Full UK driving license as transport to site will not be provided.
· Experience of working in a nuclear environment.
