Job Overview:
To carry out all maintenance duties within the
hotel, including basic plumbing, basic electrical work, basic carpentry, painting and
decorating. These tasks should be carried out to the highest standard
within a reasonable time frame causing minimal disruption to both colleagues
and guests.
In situations where sub-contractors are required to
work at the hotel you will be responsible for organising the work, ensuring the
relevant permits to work are issued and that all contractors are appropriately
signed in and out. To ensure all contractors follow rigid health and safety
requirements, risk assessments, and method statements.
Maintain an effective maintenance log, monitoring
and recording all arising issues.
To delegate down to the maintenance team all works
in a constructive and efficient manner ensuring everyone is fully tasked.
To ensure all maintenance staff are adequately trained and equipped. To
further train and develop the maintenance team using Toolbox Talks, Short Takes
and trade skill demonstrations.
Carry out maintenance related quality checks on a
regular and ongoing basis to encourage and develop a preventive maintenance
program. Make good use of reporting software ensuring all jobs are closed
within the time frame.
To assist driving forward guest satisfaction survey
scores by reacting to guest complaints in a timely and effective manner
To report back any potential failures to critical
equipment
To assist with and carry out with documenting
various pieces of health and safety related documentation including water
(legionella control), fire and emergency lights. To ensure all relevant checks
are made on time and documented on the day.
To monitor and assist with utility and energy
consumption. Make suggestions where savings can be made and be alert to
unnecessary usage. To ensure all meter readings are taken on time and
documented.
To ensure all relevant service are available for
all events and functions.
To assist with the hotel’s sustainability program
To ensure all workspaces and tool stores are kept
clean and tidy.
To monitor usage of all consumables and spare parts
and request as necessary
