Purpose of the Role
Join the Maintenance team as the Senior Technician, responsible for maintaining and improving equipment reliability to meet output and quality targets while working within Bentley's operating policies and safety framework. Play a pivotal role in Bentley's goals and Beyond100 strategy. Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, your main responsibilities include:
* Leading major complex problem-solving activities, ensuring a safe, timely, and structured approach, with proper escalation and communication processes.
* Possessing in-depth knowledge of mechanical, electrical, electronic, control equipment, PLC, and robotic programming systems to resolve maintenance breakdowns.
* Conducting planned, preventative, and predictive maintenance.
* Adhering to safe practices as outlined in the safety framework, reporting accidents or near misses.
* Ensuring maintenance activities do not put colleagues, contractors, or visitors at risk.
* Engaging in continuous improvement activities, including generating Equipment Top Issues Pareto for technology, utilizing data for RCA problem-solving to eliminate root causes.
* Collaborating cross-functionally in the delivery of new equipment, ensuring the department is set up for self-sufficiency with SOPs and robust equipment.
About the Team
The Interiors Production Maintenance team is responsible for the technical availability and uptime of equipment, including continuous improvement projects for manufacturing. This involves collaboration within Bentley and the VW group, contributing to the Industry 4.0 digitalization journey.
About you
Skills and Experience
* Extensive experience in Maintenance/Facilities environment
* Project management and contractor control experience
* Ability to generate effective reports post-breakdowns
* Strong team player with a customer focus
* Good communication skills (liaising with teams, coordinators, managers, senior managers)
* PC literacy
Technical Knowledge and Qualifications
* Accredited Apprenticeship to NVQ3 or equivalent, HNC preferred
* Comprehensive knowledge of PLCs and Robotics
* Experience with production line equipment such as automated assembly lines, injection moulding machines, CNC machines, robotic polishing machines, Zund cutting machines
* Willingness to attain IOSH, SMSTS, NEBOSH General certificate in Health & Safety
