The role

As a Product Safety Assurance Manager – Lead Auditor, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You will lead audits of Safety Management Systems across the organisation, ensuring robust compliance and continuous improvement in product safety practices.

Day-to-day, you’ll be working alongside a Governance Manager, responsible for documentation and supporting risk management activities. You will also work alongside a Training Manager who identifies capability gaps across the business and delivers targeted training interventions. Together, this team plays a critical role in upholding safety standards and embedding a culture of assurance throughout Babcock’s global operations.

Key Responsibilities:

* Lead and deliver internal audits of Safety Management Systems across multiple business units.
* Provide expert assurance on product safety compliance, risk mitigation, and regulatory alignment.
* Collaborate with the Governance and Training Managers to support documentation, risk management, and training initiatives.
* Develop and execute audit plans, conduct assessments, and produce detailed reports with actionable recommendations.
* Engage with senior stakeholders to promote a proactive safety culture and drive continuous improvement.

This role is full time, 37 hours per week with remote and flexible working arrangements.

Essential experience for the Product Safety Assurance Manager – Lead Auditor

* You must have experience as an auditor either on Safety Management Systems or Business Management Systems.

Qualifications for the Product Safety Assurance Manager – Lead Auditor

* You must have a formal Lead Auditor qualification.

Security Clearance

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
