Fire Door Technician

We are seeking a Fire Door Technician to join a highly regarded Estates Team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a vital role in maintaining and improving the safety and compliance of a large, diverse, and historically significant estate.
The Role:
Reporting to the Head of Building Fabric, you’ll be responsible for Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) tasks focused primarily on fire doors and fire dampers. You’ll help ensure that buildings meet the highest safety standards, while working with care and respect for their unique and historic character.
What You’ll Be Doing:
1. Carrying out routine inspections and maintenance of fire doors and fire dampers.
2. Completing minor remedial works where possible and reporting issues via a digital CAFM system.
3. Collaborating with the wider Estates and Contractor teams to ensure statutory compliance.
4. Using a tablet to manage job requests, log findings, and recommend next steps.
5. Maintaining personal and site health & safety at all times.
6. Supporting wider maintenance activities as needed.

Desirable but not essential:
7. Experience working on large or historic estates
8. Familiarity with CAFM systems
9. Previous experience in an educational or public setting
You’ll also bring:

11. Strong time management and ability to prioritise tasks
12. A team-focused mindset and flexible, can-do attitude
13. Effective communication skills and basic IT competence
14. A polite, respectful manner when dealing with others on-site
