Role Title: Live Service Engineer
Duration: 12 month contract
Location: Telford, hybrid 2 days per week onsite
Rate: up to £496.80 p/d Umbrella inside IR35
Clearance required: Active SC is desired, SC eligibility is required
Role purpose / summary
The Live Service Engineer will join the CESA team within Tax Admin, supporting critical live services including batch scheduling, incident resolution, and platform stability. The role demands strong technical expertise in PL/SQL and Java, and a proven track record in live service environments.
Core Responsibilities
1. Provide live service support for the CESA service.
2. Investigate and resolve incidents without breaching SLAs.
3. Manage and monitor batch scheduling processes.
4. Perform daily checks and triage ServiceNow tickets.
5. Support patching and failover activities.
6. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to elaborate issues and devise solutions.
Skills & Technologies:
7. PL/SQL and Java (core development and debugging)
8. Live Service Support experience
9. ServiceNow (ticket triage and root cause analysis)
10. Batch scheduling tools (e.g., Job Scheduler)
11. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
