Position Overview:
Join us as a Rebuild Repair Engineer at Finning’s Component Rebuild Centre (CRC)! In this exciting role, you will be at the forefront of testing engines and powertrains, stripping down, inspecting, rebuilding, and testing engines and transmission systems. Your expertise will ensure that all refurbishments meet Finning standards and exceed customer expectations.

Key Responsibilities:
* Conduct detailed inspections of equipment to assess repair and refurbishment needs.
* Perform standard diagnostic tests on components for accurate cost evaluations.
* Create comprehensive lists of parts and materials needed for machine preparation.
* Execute overhaul, repair, or refurbishment work according to the agreed plan.
* Test engines in the test cell to ensure optimal performance.
* Inspect and test completed machines to verify they meet performance standards.

Knowledge:
* In-depth understanding of service manuals and computerized Service Information Systems (SIS)
* Practical knowledge of tooling and specialized equipment for heavy machinery repairs
* Familiarity with rigging, slinging, and jacking procedures
* Knowledge of diesel engines and components
* Understanding of electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical fitting
Accountability:
* Adhere to agreed job times and maintain high-quality standards.
* Ensure machines are ready for hire and well-presented.
* Strive for positive customer feedback and zero complaints.
* Maintain a tidy and safe working area to uphold SHEQ obligations.
Education and Experience:
* Background in plant machinery or similar industries (HGV/agriculture preferred)
* Experience in assembly and disassembly of diesel engines and components
* Apprentice trained or a minimum of 5 years’ experience in a quality service environment
* Licence to drive reach trucks is required
* Practical experience in operating construction equipment and mechanical fitting on large-scale machines
