Job Description FUNDRAISING MANAGER Key information Salary £35,000 pro rata Hours Negotiable Location A hybrid role, predominately based at our office in Badby, Northants, but with lots of opportunity to work from home and of course out and about meeting with stakeholders and talking to new potential supporters. There may be a requirement to work evenings or weekends to attend fundraising activities which happen outside of working hours. Line manager Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Introduction to Harry’s Pals Harry’s Pals charity, based in Daventry, provides much needed emotional support to parents across the country who have just received a diagnosis that their son or daughter has a severe disability or illness. The Charity was launched in 2022 and has been providing life changing support to parents ever since. Harry’s Pals has big ambitions to grow and develop to support even more parents in the future and this role will have a critical part to play in that ongoing journey. We’re looking for an exceptional person to join the Harry’s Pals Team. Main purpose of the role: This role will be key to unlocking new funding streams, developing exciting income initiatives, and growing funds from a range of sources as well as exploring new fundraising campaigns to help Harry’s Pals to achieve their vision that every parent who has received a diagnosis that their child has a life-threatening or life-limiting condition is able to be signposted to Harry’s Pals for support. Since Harry’s Pals was established in 2022 they have been effective at growing the charity but are limited by funding to really expand their geographical reach at a rate of which they would like to. Job Overview This role will be perfect for an ambitious fundraiser looking to make a long-term impact, take control of their own strategy, and make the world of difference to families facing every parent’s worst nightmare. The successful candidate will play a leading role in engaging and inspiring businesses, local community groups, and individuals, strengthening the reputation of Harry’s Pals as the leading provider of emotional support services to parents of severely ill and disabled children across the country. Reporting to the CEO, the Fundraising Manager is responsible for securing income from Trusts and Foundations, corporates, philanthropists, individuals, and local organisations. Fundraising targets are reviewed quarterly by the CEO and Board, with an annual budget set and agreed upon. About You This role is the perfect opportunity for fundraisers ready to take the next step into their first strategic position, using their skills and experience to shape a new fundraising plan and make significant, tangible impact. Proven experience in generating fundraising income from one or more fundraising revenue streams (Corporate, Foundations, Community, Individual Giving, Major Donors and Events) Experience in fundraising campaigns for diverse stakeholders Strong donor stewardship and relationship management skills A natural communicator and someone who thrives on being involved in the local community Excellent interpersonal skills to engage effectively with the CEO, Board of Trustees, and stakeholders A creative, adaptable, and conscientious approach to fundraising Experience of being able to monitor fundraising KPIs and contribute to annual budgets and business planning. Someone who is keen to make a difference and improve lives for families of severely ill and disabled children Person specification: We're looking for individuals with the following skills, qualities, and experience: Demonstrable experience in fundraising roles across several fundraising disciplines, especially, regular giving Previous experience of developing a fundraising strategy to deliver increased income. Understanding of UK fundraising sector Self-motivated with an ability to prioritise and handle various projects Excellent communication, and interpersonal skills, and proven ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with a variety of individuals and stakeholders Proven ability to build, manage and develop successful and collaborative relationships both internally and externally Experience of managing budgets, both departmental and project. Strong organisational skills, and the ability to manage and prioritise a varied workload Excellent project management skills Strong bid-writing and event management skills Excellent numeracy skills with the ability to analyse and report on financial fundraising performance Computer literate with proficiency in MS office A confident public speaker A UK driving licence Preferred Relevant fundraising qualification High level of understanding of the challenges that families of severely ill and disabled children face Proven experience in trust and statutory fundraising, securing five- and six-figure You’ll get To join a fast-moving charity with an exciting future that changes lives To play a key role in driving forward the charity’s strategy and shaping our fundraising activity To be part of a small and friendly team 25 Days holiday (full time position) To apply, please submit a CV and covering letter outlining your motivations for applying for the role and how you meet the Person Specification to hayley@harryspals.org.
