The Best Connection is currently recruiting for a HGV Class 1 Tramper Driver role on behalf of our client based in Darlington.
Our client is a well-established company specialising in general haulage, delivering services across the UK. This is a great opportunity for an experienced HGV Class 1 Tramper Driver seeking flexible, ad hoc work, with shifts available to suit business demands. The HGV Class 1 Tramper Driver role offers ongoing opportunities within a professional, service-focused environment.
The Role:
* HGV Class 1 Tramper Driver position
* Typically 2-3 nights out per week (depending on the job)
* General haulage duties as a HGV Class 1 Tramper Driver
* Start times usually between 05:00am and 06:00am
* Responsibilities include opening/closing curtains and ensuring loads are secure
* Delivering excellent customer service while working as a HGV Class 1 Tramper Driver, representing both the client and The Best Connection
The Candidate:
* Minimum of 2 years' commercial experience as a HGV Class 1 Tramper Driver
* Must be over 23 years old (for insurance purposes)
* Valid Cat C+E licence, CPC, and digital tachograph card
* Professional, reliable, and well-presented
* Honest with a strong work ethic
* Flexible and able to meet varying customer requirements
* Positive and customer-focused attitude, essential for any HGV Class 1 Tramper Driver
Hours of Work:
* Ad hoc shifts available based on business needs
* Early starts between 05:00am and 06:00am
* Tramping role with 2-3 nights out per week (job dependent)
Pay Rates:
* £15.00 per hour
* £25 per night out allowance
