Veritas Education work with a variety of primary, secondary, and SEN schools across London and the surrounding areas, providing high-quality teachers and support staff for long-term, short-term, permanent, and daily supply roles. We partner with state, private, and independent schools, building strong, trusted relationships with our clients.
We are currently recruiting experienced Science Technicians to work in secondary schools across North London. These are full-time roles, term-time only, to start both asap and September 2025.
About the Role:
As a Science Technician, you'll play a vital role in supporting science departments and helping students thrive in practical learning environments. You'll work closely with teaching staff to ensure lessons run smoothly and safely.
Key Responsibilities for Science Technician:
Prepare and set up equipment and materials for practical science lessons
Maintain and organise science labs, ensuring all equipment is clean, well-stocked, and safe to use
Carry out routine safety checks and adhere to health & safety regulations
Assist in the development of practical demonstrations and experiments
Provide technical support to students and staff during lessons
Help manage the safe disposal of waste materials and chemicals
Support teachers with administrative tasks related to science lessons
Foster a safe, supportive, and engaging learning environment for studentsIdeal Candidate:
Holds a degree in a science-related subject (e.g., Biology, Chemistry, Physics)
Has previous experience working in a lab setting, ideally as a Science Technician in a school
Has an understanding of health & safety procedures in a lab environment
Experience working with young people or in an educational setting is desirable (e.g., as a teaching assistant)
Proactive, organised, and confident in supporting both staff and studentsWhether you're taking a year out before a PGCE or master's degree, or you're looking to build your experience in education, this is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a school science department.
