Role
* To carry out tasks set by site supervisors and gangers to a high level of safety standards. Understand all relevant risk and method statements.
* Use best/safe practice on all tasks carried out.
* Checks are conducted on equipment that may be used.
* Installing drainage, laying concrete, kerbs, and pavements, and carrying out excavation and groundworks, digging trenches, loading and unloading materials.
* Ensure a safe, tidy place of work.
* Implement best practice procedures.
* Maximise use of own working time.
* Ensure signed up for all permits and briefings before commencing any work.
* Communicate with the site supervisor on any concerns.
* Feedback to site management with near-miss reporting.
* Ensure to attend all site briefings, forums, and toolbox talks. Deputise for conducting briefings and toolbox talks.
Experience & Qualifications
* Experience in general civil works (earthworks, drainage, ducting, kerbing, and concreting).
* CSCS card.
* Either CPCS forward tipping dumper/ slinger signaller/ride on roller/360 excavator/telehandler.
Desirable
* SSSTS/SMSTS.
* Day environmental awareness.
* NRSWA.
