The Role
As a PHP Developer, you will contribute to the ongoing development of a robust, scalable ticketing platform used by thousands of event organisers. Working closely with talented developers, UX designers, and QA engineers, you will:
* Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented PHP code
* Design and optimise database schemas for large-scale MySQL environments
* Develop and maintain unit and behavioural tests (Cypress)
* Participate in sprint planning and collaborative problem-solving sessions
* Take part in Level 2 support rotation to understand user behaviour and real-world issues
* Contribute to the engineering culture through knowledge sharing, workshops, and continuous improvement initiatives
About You
* Minimum 3 years’ PHP development experience
* Proven experience with PHP frameworks (bespoke or standard)
* Strong understanding of MySQL and database design
* Skilled in Git (GitLab experience advantageous)
* Proactive self-starter with excellent organisational skills
* Collaborative team player with strong communication and problem-solving abilities
* Passionate about building innovative technology in a fast-paced environment
The Offer
* Salary: £48,000 – £55,000 per annum (depending on experience)
* Bonus: Discretionary annual performance-based bonus
* Equity: Eligibility for employee stock options scheme (after 12 months’ service)
* Hours: Full-time, 40 hours per week
* Location: Edinburgh HQ (hybrid working - minimum 2 days per week in office)
