Land Surveyor Opportunity with the Civil Works Alliance (CWA), Supporting Sizewell C
As part of the CWA (Civil Works Alliance), you will support the building of Sizewell C. Sizewell C will be a 3.2-gigawatt power station generating low-carbon electricity for around 6 million homes and will play a key role in our energy future, supplying reliable, clean electricity for at least 60 years.This role will be within the Enabling and Earthwork Section.
What will you do?
* Producesurveydeliverables to strict deadlinesin accordance withthe site programme
* Report to Senior Surveyor forday-to-daysite survey delivery
* Work collaboratively with all siteconstruction & engineeringteams andvariousstakeholders
* Carry out on site surveys
* Collecting survey field data, processing, and issuing to clients or stakeholders in the agreed formats
* Ensuring all site-specific tolerances are met in any survey related operationsComplete QA (Quality Assurance) records asrequired
* Manage the production of as-built drawings from survey data in survey specific software
* Comply withhold point checksin accordance withthe ITP (Inspection and Test Plan) procedure.
* Formallycompriseand issue results to all relevant stakeholders
* updatesite records of all survey related tasks
* Ensuring the safe and secure storage of all historical survey data relating to the project
* Attend site briefings, siteinductionsand Toolbox Talks
* Responsible for the safe working of themselves, their team and others whilst carrying out any survey related activities
* Hazard identification and raising observation cards
* Maintain focus on Zero Harm
* Support delivery of sustainability activities
* Participateindaily site safety briefingswiththe survey team
* Followsite safety briefings including the preparation of WPP (Work Package Plan), RA (Risk Assessment), and TBS (Task Briefing Sheets).
* Complete andsubmitweekly timesheet records
* Ensure the inventory of survey equipment and consumables are accurately maintained
* Enrol in professional qualification as identified with line manager
* Attend survey specific courses as identified with line manager
* Member of theCinstCES(or technical member working towards full member)
* Ensure thataccuratesite records of all survey related tasks are completed and maintained
* Complete andsubmitweekly timesheet records
What are we looking for?
Knowledge & Skills
* Experience andknowledgeon use of survey equipment and instrumentation
* Experience andknowledge on use of survey and CAD software
* 2+ years’ experience working on construction projects
* Knowledge of designinterpretation, includingdigital formats& 3D models
* Proficient in IT (Information Technology) applications
* Build andmaintaineffective working relationships with the wider project team
* Experience in settlement monitoring systems, methods, and technologies
* Experience in geodetic requirements associated with project requirements
* Experience using latest survey equipment, software, and technologies
* Hold a full driving licence
* Experience inusingGNSS (Global Navigation Satellite System)
* Basic understanding in design, construction, and surveying within a construction environment
* Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications
* Experience of survey specific software and processing applications
Qualifications & Experience
* Relevant degree, diploma, or equivalent industry recognised qualification
* Hold a valid CSCS (Construction Skills Certification Scheme)
