Location: London Zoo, Regent’s Park
Salary: Up to £38,000
Build something extraordinary — in one of London’s most iconic locations
Imagine starting your day surrounded by historic architecture, world-leading conservation work, and some of the most fascinating animals on the planet. At London Zoo, no two days are the same — and neither is the environment you’ll help care for.
We’re looking for a Multiskilled Engineer or Maintenance Foreman with a strong fabric background to join the on-site team, helping to maintain and improve the buildings, enclosures, and public spaces that support animal welfare, conservation, and unforgettable visitor experiences.
This is a hands-on role for someone who takes pride in their craft, enjoys variety, and wants to work somewhere truly unique.
What you’ll be doing
You’ll play a vital role in keeping the Zoo running safely, smoothly, and beautifully by:
*
Delivering planned and reactive fabric maintenance across the site
*
Carrying out a wide range of works, including:
*
Carpentry and joinery
*
Bricklaying and blockwork
*
Paving, slab laying, and groundworks
*
General building repairs
*
Supporting minor painting and decorating tasks when required
*
Assisting with basic plumbing or mechanical works where appropriate
*
Responding professionally and promptly to maintenance requests
*
Ensuring all work meets high quality standards, site procedures, and specifications
*
Maintaining a safe, clean, and well-organised working environment
*
Completing job reports, permits, and documentation accurately
*
Working closely with site management, subcontractors, and other trades
All while representing Pareto FM and ZSL with professionalism and pride in a high-profile, public-facing environment.
What we’re looking for
You’ll be someone who:
*
Has previous experience in a similar multiskilled or fabric-focused role
*
Brings strong time management and organisational skills
*
Communicates clearly, works well with others, and shows initiative
*
Understands the built environment and takes a proactive, problem-solving approach
*
Has a solid grasp of health & safety regulations and works safely at all times
*
Delivers excellent customer service with a polite, professional manner
*
Takes pride in doing things properly — even the details people don’t always see
*
Is keen to learn, develop, and grow alongside a supportive team
Why this role is different
*
Work on-site at London Zoo, one of the UK’s most loved attractions
*
Be part of a setting that supports conservation, education, and animal welfare
*
Enjoy a role with real variety, purpose, and visible impact
*
Join a collaborative team where your skills genuinely matter
If you’re a skilled fabric engineer who wants more than “just another site” — this could be the role that makes you proud of where you work.
