Qualifications
Essential criteria
1. Registered Nurse-Adult with Current NMC registration
2. Advanced communication skills/counselling qualification or willingness to undertake
3. Post registration qualification in speciality
4. Evidence of continuous professional development preferably in Parkinson’s or Neurology.
Desirable criteria
5. Masters Degree
Experience
Essential criteria
6. Significant relevant experience in the specialty or in the acute hospital setting with some of which will be at a Band 6 level or above
7. Experience of formal/informal teaching.
8. Experience where a degree of autonomous working has been required.
9. Experience of complex decision making.
10. Demonstrate analytical skills and critical thinking
Desirable criteria
11. Experience in looking after neurological and/or other long- term conditions
Other Skills
Essential criteria
12. Demonstrates sound knowledge of current developments in the NHS
13. Ability to undertake teaching of staff and patients.
14. Computer Skills
15. Good verbal and written communication skills.
16. Flexible and adaptable to changing situations due workload and colleagues’ needs.
