About the Company
Our client is a well-established and highly respected main contractor operating across Oxfordshire and the wider South East. With a strong pipeline of secured work, they deliver high-quality projects across residential, commercial, and mixed-use developments. Due to continued growth, they are now seeking an experienced Site Setting Out Engineer to join their site team on a flagship project in Oxfordshire.
The Role
As a Site Setting Out Engineer, you will be responsible for the accurate setting out and surveying of works on site, ensuring construction is carried out in accordance with design drawings, specifications, and project timelines. You will work closely with the Site Manager, Project Manager, and subcontractors to maintain high standards of quality, accuracy, and safety.
This role would suit a technically strong engineer with proven experience on UK construction sites who is confident working independently and taking ownership of setting-out duties.
Key Responsibilities

Carrying out all setting out and surveying duties using GPS, Total Station, and Auto Level
*
Checking plans, drawings, and quantities for accuracy
*
Producing and maintaining as-built surveys and records
*
Ensuring quality control and compliance with project specifications
*
Assisting with site measurements and progress reporting
*
Identifying and reporting any design discrepancies or site constraints
Requirements
*
Minimum 3–5 years’ experience as a Site or Setting Out Engineer in the UK
*
Proven experience on residential, commercial, or civil engineering projects
*
Strong knowledge of setting out methods and surveying equipment
*
Proficient in AutoCAD and ability to interpret technical drawings
*
CSCS card (essential)
*
SMSTS or SSSTS (desirable)
*
Ability to work independently and under pressure to meet deadlines
*
Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel within Oxfordshire
