About the Role:
Aspire People are recruiting for a caring and dedicated Unqualified SEN Teaching Assistant to support children with additional needs at a well-regarded school in Shrewsbury. This is a full-time, long-term position, ideal for someone with a passion for helping children with special educational needs (SEN) achieve their full potential.
You will play a key role in assisting teachers to deliver tailored learning experiences, providing one-on-one support to children who need extra help, and ensuring that their individual needs are met within the classroom.

Key Responsibilities:
Provide one-to-one or small group support to children with SEN, helping them engage in lessons and learning activities.
Assist the class teacher in planning and delivering tailored educational activities that cater to the individual needs of students.
Support the social, emotional, and behavioral development of students with additional needs, promoting positive behavior and well-being.
Help children access the curriculum by providing practical support and using resources adapted for their learning style.
Assist in the implementation of individual learning plans (ILPs) and track the progress of children.
Encourage independence in students, promoting their confidence and self-esteem.
Support the teacher in maintaining a positive, inclusive, and safe learning environment.
Assist with classroom management and ensure a supportive atmosphere during break times and lunch periods.
Key Requirements:
Previous experience working with children, especially those with additional needs, is essential.
A caring, patient, and empathetic approach to working with children.
The ability to work as part of a team and contribute to a positive classroom environment.
Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with children, staff, and parents.
A flexible, adaptable attitude to meet the changing needs of students.
An enhanced DBS check (or willingness to apply for one).
