An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic vet to join Briar Vets Ltd, a growing 4-vet, independent mixed (livestock 35% and companion animal 65%) practice, founded in 2017. Our purpose-built clinic is in a rural setting near the market town of Penistone, with clients across South and West Yorkshire. This is a genuine mixed role which could suit an experienced vet or new graduate needing GDP support.
We offer the successful applicant a special opportunity to join a super friendly team, with support and opportunity to develop skills. We have: 2 fully visit-equipped vehicles, LA and SA (hospital standard) U/S scanners, digital x-rays (including dental), bronchoscopy and gastroscopy, laparoscopy, in-house laboratory, RVN training, and a car park for customers and staff. Private TB testing only. As a small team we encourage a friendly, cost effective service with continuity of care, minimal staff turnover and are rewarded by a loyal clientele and a 4.9/5 social media rating.
Our vets work a 4 day week and a 1 in 4 on-call rota. New and recent graduates are supported by a second on-call vet. We offer a good salary commensurate with experience, 6 weeks holiday, CPD allowance, pension contribution, and payment of memberships. Salary from £35,000 p.a.
Recreational opportunities here are many and varied. There is easy access to walking and climbing in the Peak District National Park, local clubs and societies, with access to venues in Barnsley, Sheffield, Leeds and Manchester.
