Job Title: Information/Document Controller Salary - £30,000 Working Model - Hybrid (1 day onsite, 4 days from home) Location - Chelmsford Overview The Information Controller plays a key role in ensuring high-quality, accurate, and timely handover information across projects. This role involves working closely with internal teams and external partners to gather, organise, quality-check, and deliver project documentation to the highest standards. A strong eye for detail and excellent communication skills are essential. Key Responsibilities Information & Documentation Management ? Use internal systems to manage all information received from subcontractors and clients. ? Record, track, and action all incoming information promptly. ? Extract data from external sources to compile equipment schedules. ? Review, approve, and quality-check as-built documentation and technical literature. ? Action non-technical comments on manuals. ? Maintain and update project management tools to ensure all information is current and accurate. Project Coordination & Support ? Identify project creep and escalate to the Project Manager when required. ? Ensure personal tasks and third-party actions are completed and closed out on time. ? Attend online client meetings alongside the Project Manager to report on subcontractor performance and general project status. ? Handle telephone enquiries from clients and subcontractors professionally. Continuous Improvement & Collaboration ? Maintain strong competence across all relevant ICT systems and tools. ? Provide feedback on system and process improvements to support ongoing development. ? Participate in training to develop relevant knowledge and skills. ? Support the onboarding and training of new team members when required. ? Fulfil duties outlined in the Master Information Delivery Plan (MIDP) and Task Information Delivery Plan (TIDP). Skills & Experience (Required) Technical & Industry Knowledge ? Background in construction with a solid understanding of Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) principles (preferred). ? Strong understanding of data management and documentation processes. Core Competencies ? Excellent attention to detail, quality checking is a major part of the role. ? Ability to organise large volumes of information logically and coherently. ? Strong interpersonal and communication skills across internal teams and client side stakeholders. ? Able to work independently, use initiative, and prioritise workload effectively. ? Methodical, thorough, and naturally inquisitive, comfortable challenging missing or unclear information. ? Completerfinisher mindset with a commitment to high-quality outcomes.
