Your new role
Asmunications Officer, you will play a key role in planning and delivering internal and externalmunications that protect and promote the organisation’s brand and reputation. Working closely with themunications Manager, you will support corporate campaigns, media relations and crisismunications, while ensuring all messaging is accessible, engaging and aligned with organisational priorities.
You will write and edit content across multiple channels including websites, intranets, publications and digital platforms, build strong relationships with media contacts, advise senior leaders and elected members onmunications opportunities, and support media interviews when required.
What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this role, you’ll have significant experience working within amunications or PR environment, ideally handling media relations and delivering high‑qualitymunications across a wide range of channels. You’ll be confident advising senior stakeholders, have excellent written and verbalmunication skills, and be able to produce clear, customer‑focused content using plain English principles.
A degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant discipline (or equivalent experience) is essential, with a marketing ormunications qualification desirable. Experience in the public sector, including localernment, and exposure to crisis or issues management would be an advantage. You’ll be organised, resilient, able to work independently andfortable managingpeting deadlines, including occasional out‑of‑hours working.
