We are now looking to recruit an experienced, proactive nurse who has the ability to work effectively as part of a team, and also independently as required, in our Bridgewater Hospital, Manchester.
Role purpose:
To lead and manage the pre-assessment and post-operative patient pathway for cosmetic patients ultimately ensuring patient safety.
Duties & Responsibilities include but not limited to:
To work as an autonomous practitioner with specialist skills in cosmetic surgery, assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating patient care within policies and protocols.
* Supporting the Clinical Services Lead in clinical aspects
* Demonstrate clinical excellence within the cosmetic outpatient speciality
* To act as the named nurse to clinic cosmetics patients
* To undertake a nursing assessment, obtaining a detailed past medical history, and the management of appropriate clinical investigations, and any other necessary referrals
* Implement intervention based on the results of the assessment and investigations
* Undertake infection prevention and control screening according to infection control policy
* To review patients post operatively including wound care management
* Assist consultants during clinics and minor op procedures
* Assist with ward duties on surgery days
* Maintain accurate patient records, completing documentation to ensure seamless multidisciplinary communication
* Participate in continuous clinical audit ensuring compliance and an excellent standard of clinical governance
* Management of Patient Safety Incidents with the support of the Clinic Manager and Clinical Services Department
* Attend and participate in staff meetings
* Participate in the company Out of Hours service
* To support the wider nursing team when the need arises, travel to other clinics may be required
Qualifications / Skills & Knowledge / Qualities:
* Registered Nurse
* 1 year post registration experience in a surgical environment essential
* Phlebotomy skills
* Ability to work confidently unsupervised
* Good understanding of CQC and governance compliance activities
* Reasonable IT skills
* Maintains personal and professional development
