Customer Delivery Driver - Ashford Park Farm
Location: Tesco Kingsnorth, England, United Kingdom.
Pay rate starts from £13.35 an hour, increasing to £14.56 for stores inside the M25. Additional payments may apply depending on location.
Minimum guaranteed hours: 16 per week, with part‑time options from 12 hours.
Availability: We provide a weekly schedule with 3 weeks’ notice. Flexibility is welcomed; if your times partially match, we can discuss.
About the role
As the face of Tesco on the road, you deliver customer orders across a wide area, meeting and speaking with customers every day. The role is more than driving – it’s about helping others and delivering great service with a smile.
Responsibilities
* I ensure the van and trays I use are clean and kept tidy/organised.
* Leaving the back yard clean, tidy and clear of rubbish, and picking up litter as I see it.
* Ensuring trays are washed as part of the tray wash process.
* Loading the van as required, checking the van for road‑worthiness.
* Talking to the customer about any changes to their order, including short‑code items and substitutions, offering a refund for anything they are unhappy with.
* Taking care of products/deliveries as if they were my own.
* Explaining to the customer that they will not be charged any more for their substitutions.
* Delivering during the customer’s time slot.
* Calling the customer before arriving at their property if early.
* Calling the store/centre if running 30 or more minutes late.
You will need
* Build relationships with colleagues to create team spirit.
* Warm and welcoming in interactions with customers and colleagues.
* Act quickly to respond to the changing needs of customers.
* Energetic and driven to deliver beyond expectations.
* Share ideas with my Manager and other colleagues to improve our store.
* A valid UK/EU/EEA driving licence (Full or Automatic only) for at least 12 months with no more than 3 penalty points.
* Your availability includes at least one weekend day and evening shifts.
