About the Practice
A long-established, independent optical group with multiple practices across Edinburgh is seeking a qualified Optometrist to join its growing team. The group is known for its community-focused approach, personalised care, and commitment to clinical excellence.

The patient base is diverse, including children, adults, and older patients, with both routine and complex clinical cases.

The Role
As an Optometrist, you will:
Perform comprehensive eye examinations for all ages, including refraction and ocular health assessments Provide contact lens fittings, follow-ups, and aftercare Use advanced diagnostic equipment, such as OCT, fundus imaging, and tonometry, to support accurate diagnosis Detect and manage ocular conditions and make referrals to ophthalmology when appropriate Offer professional advice on lifestyle, eye health, and visual solutions Deliver exceptional patient experiences, building long-term relationships with a loyal patient base Collaborate closely with dispensing colleagues and the wider clinical team to ensure seamless patient care Maintain accurate patient records in line with GOC and legal requirements Participate in continuing professional development and clinical governance initiatives Who We're Looking For
Fully qualified and GOC-registered Optometrist Strong clinical skills and diagnostic expertise Excellent communication and patient relationship skills Confident working independently but also as part of a team Professional, friendly, and patient-focused Ambitious, with interest in contributing to the growth of a well-respected independent practice Desirable:
Experience with contact lenses, including complex fittings Previous experience with OCT, visual fields, or glaucoma monitoring Independent Prescribing (IP) qualification is a bonus but not essential
