MATLAB and Simulink are at the heart of these engineering transformations, providing the tools and capabilities to engineers to deliver cutting-edge passenger cars, trucks, and racing machines.
As an Application Engineer, you will use your technical expertise in modelling, simulation, and programming to help UK and Northern European automotive engineers have the most productive and enjoyable experience of using MathWorks tools. You will help them deliver incredible technology, and partner with them to solve their hardest engineering problems.

Responsibilities
* Analysing customer models, tools and workflows at the team, department and organisation levels
* Understanding the challenges and opportunities to improve that will impact their business
* Scoping and proposing projects and evaluations that will address pain points and enable them to adopt new technology and methods
* Delivering projects by solving demanding technical problems in modelling, simulation, control, estimation and software engineering
* Working with MathWorks development to advocate for customers to influence the future direction of MathWorks products
Minimum Qualifications
* A bachelor\'s degree and 6 years of professional work experience (or a master\'s degree and 3 years of professional work experience, or a PhD degree, or equivalent experience) is required.
Additional Qualifications
* Strong first degree in Engineering (or equivalent)
* Experience designing, implementing and simulating control systems models in MATLAB and Simulink
* Experience developing and using simulation models of mechanical and/or electrical systems for automotive and/or aerospace applications (or equivalent)
* Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills
* Ability to work on multiple technical projects concurrently

* Scoping and leading technical projects
* Dev/Ops tools and technologies, configuring CI systems, cloud collaboration environments (e.g. GitLab), containers
* Embedded software in C/C++
