Job Overview
A caring and supportive personal assistant is required for a happy and active 6-year-old boy living in the Torpoint area. He is non-verbal and has ASD, Pica and learning difficulties and he would like someone who he can build up a positive relationship with and provide him with some 1:1 support.
He would like someone to support him develop his social skills and confidence out in the community. He loves being outdoors. His interests are playing in parks, exploring the woods, visiting the beach and exploratory play with moving toys.
Role Details
The role is part-time, with 8 hours per week available, although this is very flexible. Weekend and school holiday availability will be required.
Qualities & Experience
Experience or knowledge of working with young people with SEND is essential.
Car driver preferred but not essential.
Remuneration
The hourly rate is £13.50, plus mileage allowance.
Employment Arrangement
The successful applicant will be employed under a private arrangement with the family and not be employed or carry out work for Cornwall Council.
