IT Technician Apprentice

Start date: November 2025 (or as soon as possible after appointment)
Hours: 36 per week, full time
Contract length: 18 months apprenticeship (depending on progress and completion of the Level 3 IT Solutions Technician Apprenticeship)
Salary: £14,133 – £ £22,857 per annum (depending on age and experience), in line with apprenticeship pay scales and Local Government guidelines
Location: Walton-on-Thames, Surrey – within easy reach of local transport links. Free on-site parking available.
Heathside Walton-on-Thames, an Ofsted Outstanding secondary school, is seeking a motivated IT Apprentice who is eager to begin a career in IT support.
This is a busy, varied, and rewarding role where you will support staff and students in their use of IT. You will gain hands-on experience in troubleshooting user issues, resolving technical problems, and assisting with exciting projects such as software and hardware installations, as well as Audio-Visual setups.
As part of this apprenticeship, you will receive off-the-job training one day a week delivered by Lift Schools, working towards a Level 3 IT Solutions Technician Apprenticeship (equivalent to 2 A-Levels). This nationally recognised qualification provides an excellent foundation for a long-term career in IT.
Candidates should:
•Have a passion for IT.
•Be keen to learn, flexible and possess good communication skills.
•Possess a full driving license.
•Possess GCSEs English and Maths A*-C or 4-9 or a willingness to work towards functional skills qualifications.
