Business Development Manager - Soft Drinks & FMCG Wholesale
Location: Sheffield (Hybrid / Field-Based )
Salary: £45,000-£55,000 + Quarterly Bonus (Realistic OTE £70,000-£75,000+) + Car / Allowance + Benefits

About the Company
Our client is a rapidly expanding soft drinks and FMCG wholesaler supplying independent retailers, symbol groups, convenience outlets, campuses, garden centres, vending operators and selected national accounts. With turnover at c.£15m and ambitious plans to reach £30m within three years, the company is investing in its commercial capability and looking for a driven Business Development Manager to help accelerate growth.
The Opportunity
This is a high-impact, field-based sales role focused on acquiring new customers, building repeat weekly orders, and expanding revenue across multiple FMCG categories (soft drinks, confectionery, snacks, and ambient grocery lines). Reporting directly to the Managing Director, you will play a key role in driving sales strategy and delivering strong GP performance.
What You Will Be Doing
* Winning new accounts across independent retail, symbol groups, campuses, and wholesale channels.
* Managing and growing repeat-order business with weekly volumes.
* Achieving first-year new business revenue of £2.5-£3.5 million.
* Maintaining gross profit margins typically between 10-17%.
* Conducting regular field visits (3 days per week) and office collaboration in Sheffield (2 days).
* Using your industry insight to identify new product opportunities and support range development.
* Working closely with Finance and Operations to ensure excellent customer service and order fulfilment.
What We're Looking For
* Proven field sales and new-business experience in soft drinks, FMCG, wholesale, or C&C.
* Strong hunter mentality with drive, resilience, and ability to build warm relationships quickly.
* Experience managing GP, pricing, credit limits, and understanding how to balance volume with strong margins.
* Channel experience across independent retail, symbol groups, convenience or wholesale.
* Someone who enjoys autonomy, is proactive, commercially minded, and comfortable with a fast-paced trading environment.
* Full UK driving licence.
