About the Role
We are on the lookout for an aspiring Platform Engineer to join our dynamic Platform Observability team. This team is part of the Platform & Reliability department, which provides global engineering with a magnifying glass into their services while driving commercial availability and optimization. You will play a crucial role in supporting the implementation and continual evolution of our observability capabilities that underpin our global platforms.
In this role, you will:
* Track your progress towards the wider goals of your team and communicate transparently with your team and Technical Lead.
* Adhere to the processes, standards, and designs agreed upon by your team.
* Propose and implement new processes, designs, and engineering practices to enhance team effectiveness.
* Contribute to defining product features through workshops with other engineering teams and Product Management.
* Communicate your team’s technical work to other engineering teams.
* Take responsibility for supporting your changes through to production, ensuring they work well and continue to do so.
* Participate in an on-call rota to support your team’s components in production.
What You Bring to the Table
We’re looking for candidates with:
* Cloud engineering experience.
* Knowledge of Infrastructure Automation technologies such as Terraform and Ansible.
* Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools like Prometheus, Graphite, ELK, and Grafana.
* An understanding of Platform Infrastructure (DNS, DR, SSL, Load balancing, etc.).
* Support experience with Linux and Windows services (e.g., HAProxy, IIS).
* Experience with containerization technologies.
* Configuration Management tooling knowledge (Ansible, Puppet, or Chef).
* A keen interest in working within an Agile/Scrum environment.
* Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to conduct root cause analysis in complex environments.

This is a hybrid role, allowing you to work 3 days a week from our Bristol office and 2 days from home. Enjoy the flexibility while being part of a vibrant team!
