We are recruiting an Underwriting assistant to form a key part of Chubb's High Net Worth Underwriting Team in London. You will be responsible for underwriting new and existing business accounts on our Continental European Book whilst providing world-class service to our broker partners.
This is an entry-level underwriting role, and previous underwriting experience is not required; however, some experience in multiline Household and Motor insurance is desirable. The role will also require building and maintaining strong working relationships both externally and internally.
Your Responsibilities for this role may include, but are not limited to:
Transactional:
* Responsible for underwriting renewal business up to your agreed authority limits as well as lower-level appraisals.
* Assist the Underwriting team with MP24 referrals for New Business.
* Actively seek to round out existing accounts and cross-sell other classes of business.
* Manage underwriting queries via telephone & e-mail.
* Liaise with different departments (Claims, marketing, IT, etc.) to troubleshoot a wide variety of queries.
Broker Management:
* Demonstrate proficiency in the use of management information systems to understand data, analyze trends, and report on underwriting performance.
* Proactively manage relationships with broker partners.
* Collaborate with the underwriter in converting New Business through pre-qualification of target prospects.
* Assist in launching new products across the region as part of a project team.
* Work with the Underwriter and Account Manager to monitor and pursue target quotes to ensure positive conversion rates.
* Ensure all communications with broker partners are collaborative and sales-focused to maximize retention and new business opportunities.
What skills & experience are required?
* HNW insurance industry experience is desirable – preferably from Motor or Household backgrounds.
* Ability to build strong relationships internally and externally.
* Strong communication and negotiation skills.
* Well-organized with the ability to prioritize workload.
