Overview
European Product Development: Product Structuring and Documentation – Vice President - London or Luxembourg. The role sits within the European Product Development - Product Structuring and Documentation Team at JPMorgan Asset Management and focuses on developing, managing, and maintaining documentation for Pan-European open-ended domiciled fund ranges.
The team handles more than twelve umbrella structures, over 250 funds, and more than 2,500 active share classes, registered in over 40 countries with AUM exceeding $640 billion. The European Product Development team comprises two core functions: Product Development and Product Structuring and Documentation. Investment Oversight is an aligned key function, reporting to the Luxembourg Management Company and the European Product Development Team.
The Vice President will collaborate with product developers, investment teams, and internal/external stakeholders to ensure regulatory compliance and support new product creation and changes to existing funds. This role offers exposure to global asset management functions and strategic oversight of fund documentation. The position can be based in London or Luxembourg.
Responsibilities
* Facilitate cross-functional working groups to develop business cases for new product ideas/features and evaluate significant changes/enhancements to funds or fund ranges
* Review competitor offerings to provide technical insight for new product ideas with Global Product Strategy and Development
* Scope prioritized product ideas, including new products, enhancements/changes, mergers/liquidations, and secure governance approvals (fund boards/regulators)
* Bring new funds to market and implement changes to existing funds, coordinating across functions
* Define naming and pricing conventions, share class strategy, and oversee capacity management and seed capital processes
* Conduct ongoing reviews of performance, fees, and optimization opportunities for governance forums and Fund Boards; contribute to product-related components of the UK Assessment of Value
* Assess impact of regulatory changes affecting funds across EMEA
* With product developers, produce market-leading documentation addressing legal, regulatory, and technical issues
* Engage with internal committees, boards, and regulators to obtain documentation approvals for new products and changes
* Maintain consistency and quality of prospectuses through robust quality control with internal and external counsel
* Provide strategic oversight of global changes to prospectuses and offering documents for European-domiciled funds, including certain alternative products
* Facilitate cross-functional working groups to develop business cases for new products and evaluate changes to funds and fund ranges
Required Qualifications, Capabilities, And Skills
* Experience in the asset management industry, with direct or consultancy exposure to UCITS and AIFM regulatory frameworks
* Drafting of legal documents such as prospectuses and SFDR documentation with high attention to detail
* Experience in Product Development or closely with a Product Development team
* Experience managing multiple projects to tight deadlines in a large, cross-functional environment
* Client-focused mindset with strong attention to detail and integrity
* Ability to build effective partnerships with Product Development, Product Strategy, Investment Teams, Legal, Compliance, Tax, Risk, and Operations
* Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to articulate complex ideas clearly
* Strong technical knowledge of UCITS, AIFM frameworks, and working knowledge of SFDR
* Understanding of the Pan-European asset management industry and Asia registration requirements
* Solid understanding of various financial instruments, asset classes, and strategies for retail and/or professional investors, including private markets
* Understanding of portfolio management processes and techniques
Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, And Skills
* Qualified lawyer in Luxembourg, Ireland, and/or England and Wales (preferred)
* Practicing certificates may be maintained
