This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced individual dedicated to the principles of social inclusion to work with adults who have mild to moderate mental health needs.
Working in Bromley Talking Therapies in conjunction with the DWP, the role supports people accessing primary care therapy provision with their employment challenges.
The Senior Employment Advisor will manage a team of Employment Advisors to support service users with common mental health problems to gain, return to, or retain employment. The Senior Employment Advisor will work closely with the psychological therapy clinicians and other agencies.
The role is a hybrid position that involves working with clients through a combination of home-based and clinic-based work. Appointments are conducted via telephone, online, and face-to-face.
The proposed interview date is the week commencing 27th October 2025
Main duties of the job
The Senior Employment Advisor will be responsible for:
* Promoting the Employment Advice Service and working with senior clinicians to ensure that Employment Advisors (EAs) are fully embedded in services.
* Responsible for managing and supervising a team of EAs.
* Ensuring the effective delivery of all work-focused and non-work-focused interventions through effective leadership and management.
* Carry a caseload of clients who have complex employment difficulties.
* Develop good working relationships with local employers, trade unions, Job Centre Plus and other organisations within the local labour market.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* Educated to degree level or equivalent
* NVQ Level 3 or above in Information, Advice and Guidance (IAG) or equivalent
* Trained in the IPS approach
Experience
* Experience of working with people who have experienced mental health problems
* Experience of successfully helping people to obtain or remain in work
* Experience of partnership working, negotiation and liaison work with other agencies
* Experience of providing line management and case management
* Experience of working in a service where agreed targets are in place, demonstrating specific outcomes
* Experience of delivering IPS based support
Knowledge
* Knowledge and understanding of employment/education needs and difficulties for people with disabilities, special needs, and/or mental health issues
* Knowledge of welfare/ disability/ employment related benefits
* Understanding of relevant disability and employment policy and legislation
* Demonstrable understanding of the principles of confidentiality and information governance
* Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
* Basic counselling, coaching or solution focused therapy skills
* Knowledge of NHS Talking Therapies
Information Technology
* Experience of using electronic patient record systems
* Experience of monitoring and reporting on performance and outcomes
* Extension experience and knowledge of MS Office applications
* Experience of using business intelligence tools and Excel
