We are open to discuss working arrangements including flexibility over hours and location; however the expectation is that, as a hybrid role, you will balance work between home and Service facilities and attend the Service premises for at least 3 days of a 5-day working week.
The Role
Are you looking for the next step in your Building Management career? Our friendly and inclusive Property team are searching for a new Asset and Compliance Manager to join their team. An incredible opportunity to advance your career in the development and support of Essex County Fire and Rescue Service’s portfolio as we work to develop our forward maintenance strategies and ensure our estate remains compliant and fit for purpose for Operational Delivery.
What You Will Be Working On
* Managing responsibility for all asset and compliance activities
* Developing and implementing asset management strategies and lifecycle plans
* Ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation, regulations, and industry standards (e.g., HSE, fire safety, building regulations)
* Maintaining accurate asset registers and compliance documentation
* Taking responsibility for CAFM system and its development for the Service to provide accurate data and reporting to support current and future strategic plans
* Leading audits, inspections, and risk assessments across the asset portfolio
* Managing planned and reactive maintenance programs in line with compliance requirements
* Liaising with internal teams and external contractors to ensure timely resolution of compliance issues
* Monitoring and reporting on key compliance and asset performance indicators
* Driving continuous improvement in asset reliability, safety, and sustainability
* Providing leadership and training to ensure a culture of compliance and accountability
What Are We Looking For?
We are looking for someone with a drive to achieve and develop within ECFRS. With previous experience within an Asset performance or management role, the candidate should be a natural leader with the ability to take responsibility for the estate compliance and provide solutions and forward planning as part of the Estates Strategy.
To be eligible to apply for this opportunity, the ideal candidate will have:
* 5+ years of experience in asset management and/or compliance roles
* Strong knowledge of regulatory frameworks and compliance standards relevant to the industry
* Experience with asset management systems (e.g., CMMS, CAFM)
* Organisational and management skills
* Full UK driving licence
* Ability to interpret technical documents, legislation and compliance reports
